After the downloaded upgrade package is ready, please connect the product to a powered-on computer using a Type-C cable, then turn on your infrared sight. You will then see a new partition in My Computer; after entering it, you will see the updater folder. Drag the upgrade file you downloaded directly into the Updater folder. After completing this step, please disconnect the infrared sight from the computer, restart the infrared device, then click Restore Factory Settings in the menu bar. Wait until the device restoration process is complete, and your device will have successfully finished upgrading.

Zero your thermal scope is essential since different weapons and mounts cause different baseline height. We ask you to test your thermal scope first time when you install on the rifle and test at 100 meters distance. we have made video instruction for zero your thermal scope, please refer to the video in news section.

The IR imaging devices can be used in the rain. The rain will cause a general increase of back ground noise, but thanks to our cutting edge external calibration algorithm, the noise of rain can be eliminated about 30 seconds under this condition.

Yes the thermal scopes can be used under daylight but not directly expose to the sun. The permanent burnt mark will be left on the detector, this is a permanent damage. It is also not suggested to expose to strong light such as magnesium flash or lighting.

The existing models of thermal scopes made before Aug 2025 are not compatible for external power supply, however, we are developing the next generation products with external power supply soonest coming out Sep 2025.

Yes NPO offers quick release rifle mount system to all of our thermal scopes, with the quick release mount. You can simply open or close the lock by switching the two levers.

Laser range finders are classified in categories ranging from hundreds meters to thousands meters. Due to the limit of terrain during out use, we normally equip our thermal or night vision, or rifle sights with LRF <3000meters for saving cost and energy.

No, thermal imaging technology cannot see through walls. Thermal imaging detects infrared radiation emitted by objects and converts it into a visible image based on differences in temperature.

At Novelty Point Optics you can get either aspherical Germanium lens or sulfur-based lens, the germanium lens are strictly controlled by the Chinese Customs and Bureau of Commerce, therefore, we only provide Germanium lens upon the confirmation of order. Germanium is currently the most well performed material in letting infrared radiation through. In addition, the Germanium is the best material to endure large force impact recoil during shooting.

This is a fundamental question for newcomers. The core difference lies in what they detect: Thermal Imaging detects heat signatures (infrared radiation) emitted by objects. It works in absolute darkness, through smoke, light fog, and light foliage, making it excellent for detecting living beings regardless of camouflage. Night Vision amplifies tiny amounts of available light (starlight, moonlight). It requires some ambient light, can be damaged by bright lights, and cannot see through obscurants like smoke. Which one is right for you? Choose Thermal if you need to: Detect targets in total darkness, see through visual obstacles, and easily distinguish living targets from the background. Choose Night Vision if you need to: Preserve natural depth perception and identify specific details (like reading a sign or recognizing a face) in low-light conditions.

You know something is there, but you can't tell if it's a deer, a cow, or a rock.
